With the new 1Password 4 for iOS, the developers AgileBits has completely overhauled the UI and redesigned it. Consequently, we get a much simpler version of the password vault with a handful of new nifty little features. It hasn’t been released yet but we have managed to get to know about some of the main features of the upcoming app from AgileBits.
1Password 4 For iOS The Way For Security
1Password 4 introduces the same Master Password version like the one used in its PC counterpart. The developers have done away with the double-barrel protection scheme of previous version of iOS (pin code lock + master password) in favor of a single Master Password that fully controls your 1Password account. There is also the addition of a Favorite tab that allows you to easily and instantly access the subset of really important items that have been marked as a Favorite by you. You can add any login, secure note, credit card, generated password, software license, or bank account to your Favorites.
There is also another tab which is “Categories” and this is where all your information will be stored including logins, secure notes, credit cards, generated passwords, software licenses, and bank accounts. Along with that, you also get the option to make Folders inside “Categories” making it easy to differ between Work and Personal credentials. Your familiar Settings is also there where you can tweak things like security, sync, and data, a news feed. Dropbox and iCloud are also supported for cross-platform users.
We don’t have a release date for 1Password 4 yet, nor do we know about the pricing details but it is not going to be cheap as the current 1Password retails for $14.99. So if you care about securing your passwords, then you better be ready to shell out some money for it.
