400,000 Of 650,000 Apps Have Zero Downloads On The App store
400,000 Of 650,000 Apps Have Zero Downloads On The App store – Apple App store is the leading app store among all Smartphone apps markets having more than 6,50000 apps ranging from Social Networking to games, To do lists to Fun apps and Education to entertainment. This wide range of apps make the iOS distinguish from all other Smartphone OS and is probably one of the main reason that iPhone users don’t want to move from iOS. Android takes the second position in total number of apps having about 6,00000 apps. However, Blackberry and Windows Phone OS are still much far behind these two popular Operating systems.
A new shocking report from an analytic firm Adeven, is released which says that Apple has more than 400,000 dead apps in the App store. By Dead apps, it means that these apps have not been downloaded even a single time. These apps are just present in the App store and no one even bother to check them. This fact can be demonstrated from this fact that Appstore has 1,899 flash light apps. Can you just believe it?
The reality is there are only a couple of thousand apps that really make some kind of downloads. This is based on Apple’s closed system — it’s tough to discover those kinds of apps. You don’t have proper search, so the only way to discover new apps is through the top listing.
If you’re not on those lists, it’s not sure that you’re being discovered by anyone else. The top 25 tend to be the same companies who spend millions of dollars to get to the top of those lists. If you’re an independent, small app publisher, then it’s really tough to be discovered.
According to this analyst firm, they will be releasing a new tool soon, in order to keep track of apps, monitoring of the apps and many similar services. But according to this large analyst firm, this option will only be available for iOS yet. However, a tool will be also released to monitor, track and find other services of apps from Google Play Store.
What do you think? Why these apps are lying in the App store without any purpose? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.

40,000, or 400,000?
400,000! Thanks for pointing out the mistake
“is released which says that Apple has more than 40,000 dead apps in the App store.” So is it 40k or 400k?
I’d imagine that the developer and his friends/family/coworkers would account for at least a few downloads. It seems that everyone wanted to jump on the Apple bandwagon, thinking of the app store as a quick ticket to fame and fortune but I wouldn’t surprise me if developers are actually losing money on it, with the time and effort spend and the yearly Apple developer fee.
There are simply too many apps in the app store and too many of these don’t offer anything that makes them stand out.
Shopping in the App Store is like looking for eye-candy. I’ve found it extremely frustrating to nalye and compare apps and to find an app with the features I am looking for but without a whole lot of useless feature. When I want an IApp, I find Cydia much easier to navigate and zero in on my search.

400,000 never downloaded apps out of 650,000 thats almost 2/3 of that apps store useless and you still count them…
Simply put, apple’s apps store is loaded with junk, but wait, They do tout this useless apps count as a plus and lack of therefore against MS apps store, what a load crap.
