According to Fortune, they have a rumor from an Apple investor that the fruit company will start sending out invitations of iPad mini Launch event from October 10, 2012. However, the expected date of Event is Wednesday, 17th October 2012.

According to our source, who asked not be named, there appears to be some truth to the widespread rumors that Apple is preparing to launch a smaller and cheaper version of the iPad — often called the iPad mini or iPad air and usually described as having a 7.85-inch screen.
What our source adds is the specificity of a date: The press, he says, can expect invitations to go out on Oct. 10.
Google and Amazon have already released low budgeted smaller screen tablets which are affecting the iPad sales. The best thing about these tablets is that they are much cheaper and have extra-ordinary features just like iPad 2 and the new iPad. It is also said that iPad mini will 7.85” screen which is about 0.85” larger as compared to Google’s Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire HD.
However, another important parameter about the iPad mini is the decreased price as compared to current generation iPad. iPad mini will be sold around $199-299 only. Let’s wait for another big day to watch the iPad mini from Apple.
