Comparison of Alleged iPhone 5 Smaller dock Connector and Micro USB Cable [Images]
We are just four days away from the big announcement of 2012 by the Cupertino based Fruit company, Apple. As the days are coming nearer, we are hearing different rumors and leaks about iPhone 5. We have already seen some comparison of leaked parts of iPhone 5 with iPhone 4, 4S and 3GS parts. Among the most believable rumors about iPhone 5 is the smaller dock connector.
Smaller dock connector has the 9 pins and it is much similar to the standard micro USB. The folks over Nowhereelse.fr have posted the comparison of alleged dock connector of iPhone 5 and the standard Micro USB. Many weblog posted that Apple will bring the 8 pin dock connector but according to this new report it will be 9 pin dock connector. Although, counting pins are 8 but the 9th one is the metal shell of this dock connector.
These photos clearly show that the size of both dock connectors is approximately similar. According to the Nowherelese.fr:
“New images released on Saturday compare what appear to be a Micro-A USB cable with the smaller 9-pin dock connector Apple is rumored to be deploying with the sixth-generation iPhone, showing the two components share almost identical dimensions.
The side-by-side comparison shots from French blog nowhereelse.fr were furnished by the same tipster who reportedly sent in some of the first images of Apple’s alleged smaller dock connector in August.”
Smaller dock connector is still very controversial because all other Apple products share the same 30 pin dock connector but this 9 pin dock connector will probably bring some good changes in the sync and connecting the iPhone with PC or Charger.
