I hear that some jail breaks are not secure and they might “brick” your phone. Will this jailbreak do that?
Im trying to dowload Absinthe so i can jail break my moms iphone 4, its saying the phones not supported I tried it on my iphone 4s, and ipad and it tells me the same things,

Also i have cydia installed on me iphone now as an app but once i go into cydia and try to purchase an app it says ur using the old software and need to update??? Do i need to set up an account and if so how?

I need to reinstall cyndia after having some problems with the MyWi I decided to just reinstall the whole cyndi program to my Ipad 2 and Iphone. I was successful on Iphone however I keep getting that error message of Device already installed. No stash. How can I get around reinstalling the ios 5.0.1 software to re-add Cyndia?

Just a question in regarding your JB, i have a 4s that i have JB
successfully a while back using your .2 software, Problem being now is
that my friend thought he would go through my programs on cydia and
delete the ones that i never needed, i remember it being something
like Corona untethered or something that he said he uninstalled, as
soon as he did that the JB on my phone wouldnt work nor does safari or
mail ect, ive tried reinstalling the JB onto this and i get the usual
device is already Jailbroke error, is there anyway you can assist me
in getting this working again as i really dont know what to do!

I just got a new iPhone 4S today (old one had water damage). It is on 4.0.1 so I quickly jailbroke it with absinthe. Everything worked fine but when I downloaded Winterboard, nothing works. When Winterboard is installed, there are blank, white icons. When a theme is activated and device is resprung, none of the icons are changed. What did I do wrong? All the other apps such as BiteSMS and LockInfo seem to work fine.

Absinthe 2.0 will not jailbreak my iPhone 4s (AT&T). It goes through the process and after it reboots the installer hangs at “Processing, please wait” then says it failed. Recovers my phone then asks me to unplug and try again.
I’ve tried to do this on a stock image, no pass code, no VPN. Rebooted both devices with no luck.
Was able to jailbreak my iPad 3 (wifi) no problem and very quickly.
hi I have downloaded the new Absinthe v2.0 and am trying to jailbreak my iphone 4s 5.1.1 it say there is some problem and does not jailbreaks the device…. Please please help
- Ipad3 My wifi is in Ios 5.1.1
- I saved shsh
- I deleted the config and setting (reset)
- Jailbraiké under win7 64x and lion with absinthe v2.0
- Tested with another USB cable (same thing)
- no cydia on the ipad.
- This should be simple, certainly not for others but for me! Yet there is a button to push (no dfu or anything at all)!
Even if it is not jailbraiké, the iPad remains functional …
There is a recovery is happening, and he asks at the end of the procedure if I want that again I disconnect / reconnect the USB cable.
I did another test after the restoration under itune ios 5.1.1

Was able to start the process for Ipad 3 but during the last stages, comes up with an issues has occured and then says to unplug device and plug back in to jailbreak again. Tried it again and same thing. I did backup and reset erase all content and settings before proceeding but unfortunately is not completing. Currently on 5.1.1 (9B206).
Used 2.0.1 and worked like a charm. Issue resolved.
The jailbreak completed! I have the cydia icon and go thru it, but nothing shows on my springboard and when I try to get packages or go to winterboard I get “Note: Cannot Locate Package” it says to install more sources but when I try to i get the same message! what do I need to do??
I’m having the same issue, has anyone found a way of dealing wit this? I’ve done the whole go to “changes” and refresh but it’s still not working. I can’t even install winterboard

It doesn’t work on my 4S. Does any1 have the same problem? I sent a crashreport to the Dev Team. Who knows how to fix it?

But, it won’t jailbreak my unactivated 4S. I used the glitch to access my springboard but Absinthe still sees an unactivated device. Can you enable jailbreak via this method in an update?

Hey, about an hour ago, I found the latest untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 with absinthe 2.01. I followed all of the instruction to the letter and everything went fine until I ran Cydia for the first time. Most if not all of the official apps from Apple have vanished; App Store, iTunes Store, Safari, text messages, phone calls, contacts, mail… Literally everything apart from apps I’ve downloaded/paid for.
What can I do to restore it? I’m download the latest official iPhone software to fully restore it through iTunes, but if that doesn’t work… Then what?
Site say iPad 2,4 is supported is this correct?
Why is nothing in cydia?
I tried installing Absinthe v2.0.1 on my iPad 1 (5.1.1) and half way through it stopped and crashed. Now my iPad says it needs to restore, but crashes whenever I try. I’ve tried to use Absinthe again, but when I do get a connection, I get Lockdown Error -03.

ipad 2.4 is not supported yet hope it be soon as i have jailbroken all my i Devices without problem.for those having problems just do clean restore on you i device but do not do it via itunes as they have patched the firmwares stay clear of itunes untill your Fully Jailbroken
I have jailbroken my iPad 1 ios 5.1.1 after seceral attempts and restorals. Now Cydia will not open. The Cydia icon is there but just makes the screen shudder, it does not open.
Absinthe installer shows the device as being jailbroken. How do I get Cydia back?
I updated my iPhone 4 to 5.1.1 and tried to apply the Absinthe 2 jailbreak but received an error with Absinthe.exe.
When I tried to execute the jailbreak again I received a notice stating the I have attempted to apply this jailbreak and failed. The program then apparently does some cleanup of files and then tells me to unplug the phone and replug if I want to attempt the jailbreak again.
It is now stuck on the same circle and each time I replug the phone and hit the jaibrak button it tells me i have attempted to apply the jailbreak and failed and takes me through the circle again.
I have reset my phone and re-activated and stripped most of the apps off the phone but no different.
My iPad 3 went like a dream without a hitch.
hi will the absinthe 2.0 jailbreak unlock my phone as ive just done it and worked fine but says sim not supported i am still waiting for my sim to be activated so could it be this???

Congrats on your recent release, you guys are awesome. I just wanted to bring to your attention a small issue I see with the jailbreak, this probably won’t effect all users. I currently subscribe to siriusxm satellite radio. After the jailbreak installed on both my CDMA iPhone 4 and my CDMA iPad 3 both are having issues finding channels in the app. I know it definitely worked prior to the update, not sure if this is a small tweak. Please don’t take this as a complaint, that would just be absurd. I just thought you guys should know of any hiccups with your brainchild. Thank you again and have a great weekend.
Hi there., i just used the jailbreak on my ipad 2 following the video which wonderfully worked,, tnx so much. but when i tried to do it on my iphone 4 ver 5.1.1 it said device not supported ( see pictures),. ive followed the trouble shooting guide, and it did not help., i backed it up, and restored it before jailbreak. please let me know of any possible solution,. great job and tnx so much.
