Downgrade iOS 7 To iOS 6.1.4 / 6.1.3 – By now a lot of you guys must have satisfied your curiosity by upgrading your iPhone firmware to iOS 7 beta 1 and you have seen for yourselves what it’s like.
Provided you don’t fancy iOS 7 that much and you want to revert back to your previous firmware by downgrading, you can do so by following this guide.

  • Download iTunes 11 from here
  • Mac or Windows computer
  • Internet access
  • IPSW 6.1.3 or 6.1.4 Download from here for your iPhone 5, 4S, 4 and iPod Touch
  • Lightning cable for iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5 or iPhone 4S, 4

Supported devices

  • iPhone 5, 4S, 4

Note 1: You can only downgrade to iOS 6.1.3/6.1 4
Note 2: For those who want to jailbreak, only iPhone 4 is supported for a tethered jailbreak. With the help of Sn0wbreeze 2.9.14

Downgrade iOS 7 To iOS 6.1.3 / 6.1.4

Step 1. Download Your iPhone 5, 4S, 4 and iPod touch IPSW firmware from here
Step 2. Connect your iphone to your computer, then launch iTunes.

Connect iPhone to Itunes
Step 3. At the summary page,  hold on (shift for Windows computer) or (option for Mac computers) in your keyboard and then click the Resto

Step 4. A pop-up window will appear. Point it towards the IPSW file you downloaded for your iDevice in step 1.
Step 5. After restore is done you will have 6.1.3/6.1.4 running on your device.

Remember, only iPhone 5, 4S, 4 can be updated to iOS 7 and can consequently be downgraded.

    What firmware and what iPhone version are you using? Also, make sure the extension of the firmware is .ipsw

    Won’t there be any way to use my ios7 beta icloud backup on my phone? What if I wait until beta 2? Or I really lost it? I think you should specify it on the tutorial, because its bad to lose everything.

    cant downgrade my firmware. it gets error message “unknown error occurred (3194). I think this is something to do with it verifying with apple. How do I correct this?

    Now I have figured out how to do it however The backups I have are now all for IOS7. So now I either have to stick with not working apps on IOS7 or factory reset my iphone. Any help as to how to recover previous back ups through iCloud?

    Yes, download iTools and install on your PC, this will allow you check backups on your computer and you can try loading them on your device.
    Just click on tools at the left of the page and click on iTunes backups, you can then select the one you would restore to. Hope it helps.

    yes you can. You might have to downgrade first to 6.1.3 then use redsnow to donwgrade to 6.1.2
