Hey everyone! I just jailbroke my phone for the first time, its an iphone 4s, did it on windows, everything went good. Took backup on itunes then followed the instructions, have the cydia, but when i try to download it says “Cannot Locate Package”. What should i do, anyone who has the same problem?? Help pls

I have jailbroken my iPhone 4 with Absinthe 2.0.1 for windows and it went through. I am trying to add source cydia.hackulo.us and it’s not working. I receive:
cached failure (red font)
failed to fetch http://cydia.hackulo.us/./Packages.gz
Cached failure (yellow font)
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored or old ones used instead (red font)
Any one having the same issues here? Should we wait for any updates?
Just a heads up. I have a system crash (spinning wheel to reboot) when I try and use Auto Enhance in the stock photos app. Happens evey time. iPhone 4s 64gb AT&T on iOS 5.1.1.

For people who are having problems:
1. YOU MUST RESTORE FIRST IN ITUNES.
2. START WITH A CLEAN INSTALL OF 5.1.1.
3. Then and only then run the jailbreak.
You will work like a charm.

absinthe 2.0.1 winXP & 7×64, the absinthe program crashes half way through jailbreak, in both OS. This is whilst trying an ipad 2 wifi. Have backed up in itunes first. Have removed passcode on device. When I retry the app detects it has screwed, i follow on screen instructions, but the same happens again
Looks like i HAVE to do a fresh IOS install first, then I will retry

Still not working on my iTouch 3G with Absinthe 2.0.1 on Windows 7 (XP win SP3 compatibility). It crashes while sending the initial jailbreak data.
I have the same problem with i touch 4G
it takes to much time for beginning then sending initial data . so sad

I’ve been having problems as well. I restored 3 times trying to do this. All 3 times Cydia installed as it should. however my iPod 3rd Gen will not sync with iTunes to recover without giving me an error that it wasn’t backed up properly. Not only that, it wont sync period to add music or my apps. I haven’t tried 2.0.1 yet, but i would like some feedback by someone using the same iDevice who had good luck. Cydia runs fine, but when adding sources it fails all the time loading and downloading packages. HTTP errors in red and yellow text. cant install nothing.

u can jailbreak, but u can’t unlock. may be u try to use Gevey.
I was able to unlock mine (iphone 4s Verizon) here in Guam, the method i used is SAM and GPP interposer.

Would it be possible to create an exe file so that the jailbreak can work on touch screen devices such as an android tablet. May force apple to finally put in the usb port on the ipad that we all want as well. Mainly just want to be able to jailbreak with my tablet.
I still cant get the software downloaded. After I click on the link it takes me to a different screen that says click here to download attachment. When I do that I get a command for save or save as. NOTHING HAPPENS…Where is everyone going to get theirs downloaded?

Absinthe 2.0.1(Win XP) will run for 5 to 10 minutes up to “Sending initial jailbreak data..” and then I constantly get this error whenever I retry, “Absinthe iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak has encountered a problem and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience.” This has never happened with my past jailbreaks and I don’t know how to fix it..

all you have to do is backup from itunes, then restore in itunes, then setup as new device. then run absinthe 2.0!

I tried to download absinthe for windows several times from various websites every time I click on the download for the 2.0.1v another tab opens and asks to click here to download a window on the bottom of the page asked save cancel when I select save nothing happens and the page locks up i would appreciate it if anyone could tell me what’s going on thanks

Guarantee this will work! (At least mine did)
If you are having errors with the jail break, and you updated to 5.1.1 OTA (Meaning you did not use iTunes, you just let your phone download the update and installed it that way, follow these directions.
1.) Use iTunes to restore your phone to factory. This will force it to update to 5.1.1 using the full download (about 880mb vs. the 120mb your phone downloaded OTA)
2.) ***Optional*** After Step 1 finishes, restore your phone with your latest backup. (This will restore your apps, music, and pictures)
3.) Run Absinthe 2.0
4.) Enjoy
I did the steps above and the jailbreak worked after 4 Failed attempts earlier today.

Tried all the remedies for 2.0 – still couldnt make it work. Used 2.0.1 and a first time go. YAY! I have the Cydia icon but every time I tap on it it just flashes the screen one time and nothing happens. Waited a while and tried again (servers busy?) but now I’m wondering if something else is wrong. Any ideas?

Jailbreak seems to have been successful on my 4s but I did get an error saying “unable to connect to lockdownd. aborting”. what does this mean? should i restore and jailbreak again?

Hey guys! The jailbreak work perfectly I just have one problem, cydia its not working. I have tried to download things like the SBSettings and WinterBoard but it doesnt let me, it starts to download and when is half downloaded it stops and sail error. Somebody please help me
At first i had some problem with the jailbreak for iPad 3 GSM.. It said Hmm…. Retry and something like that But after i followed some of the steps bellow it worked like a charm..
1. Download 5.1.1 firmware and restore it with iTunes.
You than now successfully jailbreak your iPad
2. Turn on AIRPLANE MODE and turn off AUTO LOCK.
3. Jailbreak using Absinthe 2.0
4. The end
yeppie its working now on my ipad 3 4g version i have done 10 time before absinthe 2.0 but with version 2.1 just jailbrek normally with out any 5.1.1 1 gb update of itunes just reset & done 1 times within 2 mins !!!!thx lord

check your modem firmware/baseband then try installing Ultrasnow in cydia. Now you can check if your baseband is supported. Try it, it might work.

Hello! I’ve got 4s with jailbreaked 5.0.1.
What would the procedure be for me to update to 5.1.1. and jailbreak it? Do I need to unjailbreak it first or something or I can just:
1. make a backup on itunes
2. update to 5.1.1. trough itunes – thus removing the old jailbreak and everything in the proces
3. jailbreak it with 2.0.1 and then have a jailbroken phone on 5.1.1. firmware
is this correcty?
and also, what about those blobs, do I need to save them prior to updating or is that a thing of past?
