   It’s released… I tried to update to 6.1.1 and now I have to recover my iPad… but it’s updating to 6.1.2 now

   Hate to ask an ignorant question but this is my first Jailbreak. How can I upgrade to 6.1.2 without losing my JB stuff?

     You have to make an Custom Firmware from6.1.2. via redsnow

     Wait until you see that they tell you that evasi0n could be used on 6.1.2. The thing with jailbreak is when you update to whatever firmware, you have to rejailbreak it after updating that is why I told you to wait. So write down all your favorite tweaks, themes, etc so you could install them again later. Since you said this is your first time, the simplest way to go is evasi0n, you could use redsn0w or sn0wbreeze, if you have your reasons.

       I’ve already jb’d with evasi0n on 6.1. And I’m not certain that I really need to upgrade to 6.1.2. The Exchange issue doesn’t effect me – I keep my work at work, for everything else there’s gmail. Thanks for the info guys. Some boards wouldn’t be quite so nice – in other words, thanks for not telling me to post in /b/

   Tried updating my software to ios 6.1.2 but while preparing download a prompt appeared saying SOFTWARE UPDATE FAILED: An Error occurred downloading 6.1.2.

   what has been wrong while downloading it?

   just Download iOS 6.1.2 for iPad 3 (GSM) (iPad3,2) but cannot restore to my ipad3..

   not compatible device ..

     nevermind : found the link for the ipad3 (GSM) is switch beetwen
     iOS 6.1.2 for iPad 3 (CDMA) (iPad3,3) and Download iOS 6.1.2 for iPad 3 (GSM) (iPad3,3)

     u should tell it to people that downloaded from ur website

   I backed up my phone. Then, just upgraded IOS 6.1.2. Restored back up. Now all my contacts, all 20 yrs of business contacts, are gone on the backup and the restore.

   Hi, i cannot seem to update to ios 6.1.2, on iphone 4s, tried the restoring via itunes with ipsw files given here and nothing, all sort of error numbers on itunes, any ideas????
