I am trying to jailbreak and I get the key error not found which appears to be common. I have tried downloading the iphone 4 IOS6 ipsw file. When I use the extra and point it to the downloaded file it does not find a ipsw file when I extract the folder. Why is this and how can I correct? I am using Windows 7 on my laptop. Thanks
Wow its great to find out that ppl had the same problem that i had. It took me hours and hours to find out what was i doing wrong how can i conver this 889mb file into and ipsw. Well first donot use internet explorer to download the ios software all that will do is convert the ipsw file into a .zip file because windows does not recognize such files because quote: ” were not apple”. Ipsw if an apple file that if downloaded from a windows computer it will not recognize it and try to make it into a recognized file for windows, Now if you had an apple device or computer and that file was downloaded on such apple device, this file will simply download as ipsw simple huh. But we dont lol. So one simple answer download the file from mozzila firefox browser and it will simply download as a ipsw file to your windows comp. and poof you have an ipsw file. but in the start it says that “what do you want to open it with so what should i do
should i just save it or open with itunes windows etc?
and then if the zip still comees do i extract it then ? ://
Just rename and change the extension from *.zip to *.ispw.
What is the different between “CDMA” AND “GSM”

If you do not know what GSM and CDMA are you should not be performing any jailbreak or trying to hack any phone period. Smh

redsn0w does not currently support ios 6.0.1 only ios 6.0 you have to trick redsn0w to jailbreak using the 6.0

I have iPhone 4 (6.0.1) and I followed the steps. I got to where the screen goes ‘Please wait…’ and that’s it. After 10 minutes or so, it will reboot itself without being jailbroken. Anyone knows what’s going on? Thanks in advance.
okay so for the ios 6.0.1 jailbreak you have to download ios 6.0 basically to trick your phone because there is no real jailbreak for ios 6.0.1 yet.
MY PROBLEM!
is that when i download ios 6.0, it only saves as a compressed/zipped folder, so when i try to open it in redsnow it doesn’t appear. apparently there is another way you are supposed to save the file but i CANNOT find this other way. please help
I have downloaded the .ipsw file to update my version 4.1 to 6. What else must I do to update my device? I have already installed iTunes on my PC.
Open your iTunes and connect your device. iTunes will ask you to update it but don’t do that. Then press the left shift button and click on the update/restore option. It should launch the location window of your computer. Select the file from the located folder and the rest will be taken care by iTunes.
hi, just want to ask if this firmware will activate facetime for iphone 5 that are sold in Saudi Arabia.
This firmware will upgrade your phone to ios 6.0.1 which I believe does have facetime feature. Can you please specify it a bit more?

i have an iphone 3gs, i update the itunes for ios 6 and update, then i open redsnow but it have a problem so i download the ipsw, 6.0 and start again, then the redsnow frozen with ” waiting for reboot”. Thats was the last, now im restore again, but i dont know what i can do to make it works.
Do should i open redsnow again? i have the vesion 15b3.
