Facebook Reaches 1 Billion Monthly Active users - No One can deny the fact that how Facebook became the world’s largest Social Networking Website. An idea by Mark Zuckerberg, a College dropout, made him world’s 36th richest person (According to latest report from Forbes on richest person) .
Today, it is a big day for Mark Zuckerberg and his team because the world’s largest Social Networking website has reached 1 billion monthly active users. This target was achieved last month on 14th. However, they have announced it earlier today. One billion is about 8th part of the world’s population which means that every one-in-seven persons uses Facebook every month.

Facebook reached 1 billion monthly active users on September 14 at 12.45 PM Pacific time.
Since Facebook launched, we’ve seen:
- Over 1.13 trillion likes since launch in February 2009
- 140.3 billion friend connections
- 219 billion photos uploaded
- 17 billion location-tagged posts, including check-ins
- 62.6 million songs have been played 22 billion times – that’s about 210,000 years of music
Google launched Google+ last year to compete with Facebook and Twitter but it was not a good experience for Google. However, at start it grew up very fast but soon it was over and couldn’t compete the world’s giant social networking website. Currently, Facebook Inc. is paying attention to catch the Smartphone users and according to them out of these 1 billion monthly active users 600 million users are from mobile phones.
