Step 2: Reset Network Settings. go to General, Reset, then “Reset Network Settings”

Step 3: Remove SIM card and then place back in tray carefully making sure it sits well. This will force the device to re-establish connection with the network and Network bars will be displayed

5. Error In Downgrading 

Some people accidentally upgrade their iOS version and later find out  that it can’t be jailbroken untethered. Therefore they are forced to downgrade to an earlier iOS version and also even downgrade the baseband. In this process of all these downgrades, something went wrong and it messed with the device’s ability to read SIM card information. How did I find out what app was responsible, amongst the numerous other apps/tweaks on my device? Well, it was thanks to invoking safe mode, and troubleshooting the device for apps that might be causing instabilities. After a suspected culprit was listed, I merely uninstalled it, and the issue was resolved.

As you all know, safe mode has been available on PCs for a long time and, when invoked, only core processes and drivers will be loaded at boot time.

Well, the same state is also available on iDevices, and helps to diagnose the cause of constant app crashes, and other instabilities in iOS.

Method 1: Install the latest version of Mobile Substrate:  Boot up your iDevice by holding down the home and power button at the same time until the phone restarts. When the Apple logo is displayed, press and hold down the volume up button. This temporarily disables all Cydia tweaks, and launches the device in safe mode.

Method 2: Some people may find the above method cumbersome. An easier way is to download and install Safe Mode Launcher from Cydia. This app is free, and does exactly what its title implies with the tap of a button.

Method 3: Another method to enter safe mode is using SBSettings. If you have SBSettings installed on your device, all you have to do is hold down the power button and select safe mode.

There are other methods to enter safe mode, some which involve the use of SSH or entering the device via mobile terminal. However, the straightforward methods listed above are available, which make your life easier.

If you ever get stuck in safe mode, just manually reset your device: hold down the home and power buttons simultaneously, for 15 seconds.

This error is not due to particularly any malfunctioning in the Evasi0n Jailbreak software but it is simple due to the heavy traffic coming to Cydia due to which Cydia servers become down and users can’t load the Cydia or any other packages such as Tweaks, themes or apps. All you have to do is to wait until the Cydia servers face some drop in traffic it may happen in the next 24-48 hours. So, please try after 24-48 hours, you will have the normal Cydia and packages running on your iPhone.

Downgrade iOS 6 To iOS 5.1.1 On iPhone 4S Status - Many questions on our facebook fan page regarding the way to downgrade iOS 6.0.1 to iOS 5.1.1 on iPhone 4S and iPad 3 in order to enjoy the untethered jailbreak ? Also if  it is available to downgrade to iOS 5.1.1 without Saved SHSH blobs or not ?

A few months back we released a redsn0w feature that lets you downgrade A5+ devices from 5.1.1 to anything lower (if you had saved blobs).  Unfortunately once the 5.1.1 window closes, redsn0w’s 5.x downgrade feature will no longer work.  Most A5+ users will not be able to downgrade.  So if you’re an A5+ owner up at 6.0 when the 5.1.1 window closes, you’ll be stuck there without a jailbreak for now.

Difference Between Old Bootrom and New Bootrom - An iOS Bootrom, known as “SecureROM” by Apple, is the most basic code that runs on an iOS device. It is read-only, meaning that you can’t write on it after it is installed. Each device version has its own Bootrom.
iOS jailbreaking is done by finding exploits in the Bootrom of that device. Once it is done, the rest of the stuff is pretty easy. Moreover, Apple can’t even fix that exploit without a hardware revision so exploiting the bootrom is a pretty big thing.

Difference Between Old Bootrom and New Bootrom

Only some devices have different bootrom versions like the iPhone 3GS and the iPod Touch 2G and are referred to as “new bootrom” and “old bootrom”.
The iPhone 3GS with the older bootrom had an exploit in it which got fixed in the newer bootrom which was released after 9 September 2009. Each model of the iPhone 3GS that got released after the 9th of September runs on the newer bootrom.

How To Find The Bootrom Version?
Finding the Bootrom version is very easy as it is included in the serial number and model number of your iPhone.

• Serial Number: If the second character of the model number of your iPhone 3GS is “B”, then it is uses the old bootrom. If it is “C”, then it runs on the newer bootrom.
• Model Number: The third digit of the serial number of your iPhone indicates the year it was released in (9 for 2009). While the fourth and fifth are dedicated to the week it was made in. Any iPhone made on or after Week 45 of 2009 runs on the new bootrom.

Jailbreaks for old and new bootrom also differ as the jailbreak software created with the old exploit can not work on the newer one.

Note 3: Make sure you are running redsn0w as administrator by right clicking on redsn0w and going to Properties –> Compatibility  mark on “Run this program as an administrator” under Privilege Level.

Also make sure that your USB port drivers are fully upgraded, your USB cable is in good condition, and that you are also on a fresh restored iDevice

How To Fix “Exploit Failed” Error while Jailbreaking iOS 6.0.1

Step 1: Put your device in DFU mode.

You have to take care on this step cause this step is the main reason of the “Exploit Failed” error, you must follow each step correctly.

• Hold Lock/Power button for 3 seconds.

• Hold Both Lock/Power and home button for 10 seconds.

• Keep Holding the Home button for 15 and no less. then release the Power button.(THIS IS THE KEY STEP)

• DO NOT let the “Home Button“ when the screen changes at 8 seconds, to the picture below.

• Keep on holding the home button until you see “Uploading first stage” or “Uploading second stage” (Which is about 15-20 seconds) then you can let go of the “Home Button” because the exploit process has finished.

Your Jailbreak should complete Now and the rest of the process will take place on your iDevice.
