How To Fix Push Notifications Not Working After Update To 5.1.1

How To Fix Push Notifications Not Working After Update To 5.1.1 – Many users complain about push notification which is not working after updating to iOS 5.1.1 – you can check Cfernando.Escobar‘s  issue.

I have a Gmail Account working on Microsoft Exchange, and I am also using Whatsapp. Before Updating it to iOS 5.1.1 all Push notifications were working flawless, however, after I upgraded it to 5.1.1, I began having troubles. After 1 minute of having the iPhone locked, I don’t get any push notification, on the email, or on the Whatsapp. I locked my iPhone for 30 minutes. In those 30 minutes people sent me 4 messages on whatsapp, and 4 mails. Once I unlock my iPhone and I go to one of the 2 apps, I get the 8 items (4 msg from whatsapp, and 4 mails) at that exactly time. It’s crazy, it’s like, with this new update push notifications got disabled for every app what happened to my iPhone on this upgrade? I really need help. WIthout Push, none of them apps works cool for me. I’m using Iphone 4 on a 3G network. Ps: I tried restoring it x3, but nothing worked.

to fix your notifications after updating to 5.1.1 is easy to fix! no need to install any apps.. simply go to settings > Wi-Fi > Go to your wifi status then change your DNS to 8.8.8.8 and thats it respring your device.

You can try to fix it using SAM. The notification is probably not working because your phone is hacktivated.

tried eerything … didnt work til i seen this…

had the same issue with my 3G and 4G. this worked for me.
    1. Jailbreak (I assume you know how)
    2. Hacktivate. in my case i had to hacktivate first to get access to my ip4
    3. install SAM
    4. Click “Revert Lockdownd to Stock” in Settings>SAM
    5. Settings > SAM and touch “De-Activate iPhone”
    6. Activate with iTunes
    7. disable push notification in Settings
    7. ssh to your iphone
    8. #cd /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/
    9. #launchctl unload -w com.apple.apsd.plist (this disable push service)
    10. #cd /private/var/Keychains/
    11. #mkdir save
    12. #mv * save (this will save content of KeyChains dir just in case)
    13. #cd /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/
    14. #launchctl load -w com.apple.apsd.plist (this enable push service)
    15. activate push notification in setting.
    et voila !
I think the issue is due to the fact that once I hacktivate to get access to the phone non legits certificates are stored in KeyChains even if I activate with SAM they still their, when deleted apsd services created legits once.
    good luck.

      You’re a hero!

I had a previously hacktivated and jailbroken phone as well, which I then got factory unlocked. Push didn’t work though. I tried a lot of different ways, for something like two days, but after doing this I got asked to login to FaceTime and iMessage (something that’s never happened), and iPusher says notifications work.

      THANK YOU!
