Step 1: After downloading redsn0w extract it, by right clicking on it and choose “Extract All“.

Step 2: Open RedSn0w main window click Extras –> Even more –> DFU IPSW, and click OK

Step 3: Then you will be informed by the message shown on the screen below then Click OK.

Step 4: Now you have to select the iPSW firmware file you downloaded in first step then click Open.

Step 5: RedSn0w will now proceed to create a DFU Mode IPSW.

Step 6: You will be informed by the message below that your IPSW has been created successfully, then Click OK

Step 7: Open now iTunes then Connect your device to your PC and hold down the Shift key and click Restore, then choose your newly created “ENTER_DFU IPSW file”  as the icon below and click OK, This will restore your device and place the device into DFU mode upon restore. You should just see a black screen once the restore is finished.
