So if you are using one of the above devices and you still get this message so try to reboot your device and change the USB port then disable the start up applications and try again follow the steps below we will show you how

Fix Absinthe 2.0.1 No Cydia icon after Jailbreak :

Im reading all these problems and I’m just woundering if people are following directions. I have JB at least 5 IPhones and at least a 1/2 dozen IPads with no issues. Maybe I’m lucky. Keep up the good work I think you guys are great !!!

Had this very same issue
Just go to the iphone search (homescreen to the left), and tipe CYDIA, you will find it, and it will be working. It’s just another bug on some phones, install SBsetting and put Cydia on the dock; simple as that

i just did the update to iOS 5.1.1, jail broke it again and am having the exact same problems, a whole bunch of my factory apps and some Cydia ones aren’t showing up and using “search” can’t find them either. i backed up my jailbroken phone right before i did the iOS update and tried restoring with that back up and all it does is try to back it up again. i was scared to do it so i stalled for so long, when i finally do it it all turns to shiet =/ anybody have any new info on this issue, it;s obviously a common problem

I had the same issue…
I simply restored my iPhone to like new, and before I even set up my location on the device, I jailbroke it, and all factory apps and Cydia app was still on there after Cydia created its file. Hope this helps. (3GS Device)

Everything works well, except for my icons.. My maps icon .png image isn’t displaying? Is there any fix for this? I am on iPad 2 5.1.1. I had this problem with my messages icon, and restored and jailbroke again, which fixed it for awhile.. Any help is nice

Hi, I’ve jailbroken my iPad 2 and things were fine before but recently apps like fb messenger or photo editing apps that require photos from my camera roll/photo album keep crashing when I press the button. Taking normal photons are fine but I cant acces pictures on my album that I want to send. Any help??

help!!! trying to jailbreak my iphone 4 (on IOS 5.1.1) using version 2.0.4. Keep getting message “absinthe.exe has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.”
When I tried to jb again, it tells me that the previous jb was not successful and recovered the files. I had to reset all settings and redownload Absinthe v2.0.4 again and restart the jb process. Again it gives me the same error and the process goes on and on…………..anybody help pls??? thks

Hi, i’ve jailbroken my iPad 2 and I was so happy and i downloaded tweaks and much more but one day, i downloaded an iphone tweak and i respring my ipad.. And now my iPad it’s like and iphone. No rotation, cydia crashes and everything is behaving like sh*t

The app cydia was there and everything seemed alright. all of a sudden it disappeared with my app store camera and some other factory made apps. i tried to back it up but itunees wont let me and i dont want to lose my info by restoring it. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!
For all who have had their stock apps removed after Cydia initialized …. this is for you!! Hopefully you have made a backup before you started. To get your phone jail broken do the following
1.Go to iTunes and do a “Restore” (don’t restore from backup yet)
2.After restore is complete rerun the Absinthe 2.0.4.
3.After JB is complete let Cydia do it’s thing (make sure all apps are still there
4.Go back to iTunes and “Restore from Backup” and that should do it.
So far this has been repeatable in a 3GS and iPad 2. Hope it helps!!!

Site sucks for helping people fix issues. I had the issue where my ipad 3 would not being detected by 2.0 software. tried for hours with no luck. I installed itunes 10 and detection was a success as well as the jailbreak. I really hope this helps someone else.

After running absinthe I only have 2 icons on My screen: youtube and “paper stand” (don’t know the correct word in english). Not even settings, contacts mail safari or anything!!
