How to fix iMessage not sync between iPhone and Mac – iMessage is an iOS and now Mac OS X Mountain Lion messaging app which allows you to chat with other iOS or Mac OS X users. With the introduction of iCloud, it has improved very much. As we know that, Apple comes with a feature of Sync everything; iMessage also has this iCloud feature which allows users to sync messages between iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. It means that if you receive a text message on an iPhone, it will be automatically sent to your iPod Touch, iPad or Mac.

  • On your iOS device [iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad]

On your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, Open “settings” and Tap on “Message”.

Now, scroll down and select the “Receive At” option, write down email address instead of the Phone number.

  • On your  Mac:

As there will be no option to address the Phone number, so on your MAC, please check that you have entered the same email address as you have entered on your Mobile Phone.

    I followed the directions to get my Messages to synch between my phone and my laptop. It didn’t work for me.

    I have also tried the method above, but cannot get imessages to sync with my iphone. the mac and ipad sync, but not the iphone.

    Hi I have the opposite problem! I don’t want my iMessages to come through on my iPod touch (as my 8 year old son uses it)! How do I fix this!!

    when i first d/l’d lion, imessages was working fine. now, months later, i’m having the problem of my ipod and my mac not synching. I tried the above, and it doesn’t work for me either.
