How to turn off Message previews
You can adjust the settings of the preview so that only names of the sender are shown;

How to turn off message alerts
If you really want some tight privacy and want to save up on battery life as well, you can simply change the number of alerts you receive, it’s easy to do so and takes just a couple of steps.

- You will then see options for alert styles and from there you can change the type of alerts you receive.

These changes will be made to both the iMessages and the usual SMS messages, however, you will still hear a tone whenever you get an alert and if you want to disable that as well you can simply head over to sound and disable the alerts.
