iPhone 5 is made of glass and metal, its back unlike iPhone 4/4S has the metal which makes it more durable. Now-a-days, Samsung is comparing Galaxy S 3 with the iPhone 5 and the Korean company has even posted a news Ad against iPhone 5. But it looks like iPhone 5 has beaten the Galaxy S3 in the durability and drop test. This test is performed by a famous Android blog and it proved that iPhone 5 is more durable as compared to world’s most popular Android, Samsung Galaxy S3.
The folks at Android Authority have done a drop test for both iPhone 5 and the Galaxy S 3. In the following video, he has dropped both devices from three different levels. iPhone 5 survived the entire drop test and got only a small mark on the side of device after every drop. But the Samsung Galaxy S3 suffered much more, even S3’s glass was broken in the second test. You can watch the video embedded below.

If you look closely at the beginning of video you will see that the iPhone has a screen protecter.SCREEN PROTECTOR! while s3 did not have one and that means this video is a scam and fake and I’m not posting this comment as android I’m posting for both ok both are great but I’m telling this video is scam.

I once use to have an HTC Evo 4G when it first came out and now 2 years later Google has stopped it from getting any good updates. Froyo anyone? Might as well root it since it will be as good as “out of warranty” within a years use. Yes, your Samsung Galaxy S III might be able to open a bag of potato chips too, but with the plastic build quality tell me if it can still jump through hoops 2-3 years from now.
My old HTC Evo 4G no longer charges properly and I would have to loop the cable around the phone (while connected) so the contacts can touch inside the port. What does that tell me? Im afraid to touch another Android phone with a ten foot pole.
In the end it’s about the users experience and everyone’s will be different. I’m glad I made the switch to the iPhone 4S and now the iPhone 5…but that’s just me. I know I have a quality product that would be reliable for years to come if I need it. It’s simply easy to use with bells and whistles that are easy to keep up with. If your happy with your Samsung Galaxy S III, more power to you. It’s a matter of personal preference. What product will treat you better at the end? Just my 2 cents.
I agree to each his own. I have owned 4 different Androids since Verizon started carrying them. They have all been soso; horrible battery life, force closes, never getting the latest updates from Google. Motorola, Htc, LG, and Samsung only will let you have what version of Android they want oh yea and only if you buy more phones then Apple’s. Ask how many Android users have Jelly bean or at least Ice Cream Sandwhich. Most manufactures will only let you have Gingerbread, now how can we have the latest and greatest if they only want are money. At least Apple updates all handsets with new software, has better apps, less force closes, and most of all a better user experience. I for one as a now former Android user say goodbye and until you can improve your products I will use Apples and not regret it for one momment. Oh yea the cost of the Iphone off contract is no different then any Android so don’t use that to try and rationalize a thought.
You also have to think iPhone is strong because of the metal/aluminum frame. And also the frame expands across the entire phone so it retains it strength.
The Glass is also very strong because the final test was a face-down drop on the screen.
