Jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS On iOS 5.1.1 With RedSn0w [Windows]
Few hours ago we showed you the way to jailbreak iOS 5.11 on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS using redsnow on Mac and now we will show you how to jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS on Win using Redsnow tethered jailbreak.
Jailbreak Required
- Download iOS 5.1.1 firmware
- Download the latest version of Redsnow
Compatibility : this jailbreak is compatible with iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS
Note: This jailbeak is tethered means when your iPhone switched off for any reason the death of the battery for and example you will need to plug your device to the compute.
How To Jailbreak Your iPhone 4, 3GS Using RedSn0w on iOS 5.1.1 [Windows]
Step 1: After downloading RedSn0w Extract it by right clicking on it and click Extract to redsnow_win_0.9.10b\…
Step 2: After extracting the file right click on redsnow click the Run as administrator option.
Step 3: RedSn0w will run then click the Jailbreak button.
Step 4: After clicking the Jailbreak button you will come to a screen where you will need to put your iPhone into DFU mode. (follow the steps below)
- Hold down power button and home button both at the same time for 10 seconds.
- After the 10 seconds release the power button and still pressing on the home button for another 10 seconds.
Step 5: After entering your device in DFU mode RedSn0w will begin preparing your iPhone for the Jailbreak.
Step 6: Select Cydia from the list of options and click Next.
Steps 7: Your iPhone will now be rebooted again and RedSn0w will begin uploading the new RAM Disk and Kernel.
Step 8: Once this is complete you will be notified that RedSn0w is done. you can take now a cup of tea until your iPhone finishes rebooting it will be jailbroken with Cydia on the SpringBoard.
Step 9: Now it’s the time for the TETHERED BOOT Once you have jailbroken you will need to RERUN redsn0w to boot tethered.
Step 10: Run RedSn0w from the main menu as step 3 but the difference is that you should click the Extras button.
Step 11: Then Select Just boot from the Extras menu to boot tethered.
