SMS Security Hole is Only Present in iOS Not in Android, Blackberry or Any Other OS
SMS Security Hole is Only Present in iOS Not in Android, Blackberry or Any Other OS – This week seems to be hard on Apple. Earlier this week posted that Pod2g found a security flaw in iOS messaging app and the worst thing is that it may lead to SMS spoofing. This news spread like fire in in the jungle and the very next day after the news Apple responded to this flaw. As posted by a famous weblog, Engadget, Apple Said this SMS security hole isn’t present in software or hardware, it depends upon the carrier. So, it may be present on any device with any OS.
But the things seems to be in reverse direction, a security firm has recently posted that SMS security hole is only present in iOS, however all other mobile phone OS such as Android, Blackberry and even Symbian are in the safe zone. Here’s what that blog posted:
“A flaw discovered recently in Apple’s iPhone could allow nefarious people to hack SMS messages. According to AdaptiveMobile, the iPhone stands alone with this security hole. AdaptiveMobile tested the exploit in the iPhone and compared it to Android, BlackBerry, Symbian, and Windows Mobile. All the other platforms remained secure in their treatment of SMS messages.”
We have already posted that Apple will probably release an updated version of iOS 5.2 to fix this hole. But it is not confirmed yet. However, We hope that this bug will fix in iOS 6.
