iPhone Dev-Team has released a new update of RedSn0w (Redsnow 0.9.12b1) to support iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak

redsn0w allows owners of A4+earlier devices to install rocky-racoon two different ways:
- backup/restore method similar to Absinthe and cinject
- its traditional limera1n-based ramdisk install. If you have a lot of media on your A4 device (music, movies, TV shows, etc), then the ramdisk method is preferrred because it avoids any possibility of later problems related to syncing to iCloud (including Photo Stream and Music Match).
- The ramdisk method is not available for A5 devices or later because limera1n can’t be used. If you’d like to use redsn0w’s ramdisk method, just be sure to put the A4 device in DFU or Recovery mode before starting redsn0w (otherwise it will immediately start to use the backup/restore method).
Step 1: Download the latest version of RedSn0w
- Download Redsn0w 0.9.12b1 (Mac)
- Download Redsn0w 0.9.12b1 (Windows)
Download iOS 5.1.1 firmware from here if you don’t have it
Step 2: after downloading Redsnow extract it by double clicking on it and select Run as Administrator menu
Step 3: Once RedSn0w opens click the Jailbreak button.
Step 4: Now Rocky Racoon jailbreak will now go through three steps to complete.
- Preparing
- Processing
- Finishing up
Step 5: After finishing Step 4 you will be informed by the message below then OK

I’m getting an Error 2000!!!
select the ipsw 5.1.1 and then click on exras and click just boot teathered after it has completed go into cydia and download something called (rocky raccon 5.1.1 unteather)and then you will have successfully jailbrocken your i-devise
I did a research. There are two ways of sorting out Error 2000.
-Way 1: If you have Ipod, Ipad 1 (2), Iphone 3 3g 4
You should enter DFU monde (the whole screen is black). Not recovery (there is a USB port, and an iTunes logo). There are many videos on Youtube telling you how to get in and out of it. I strongly reccomend to watch some of them.
-Way 2: If you have iPhone 4s, iPad (2) 3, you should just open iTunes let your computer recognise your device, open Jailbreak, and it is done!
If there are still some problems, make sure, that there is enough space on your computer. At least as much as on your AppDevice. This will 100% work

Im also getting “Error 2000″ also tried to use Absinthe 2.0 and it just stops in the middle any one please help. I did a tethered jail break before but restored it back to stock.
You just gotta turn your ipod off bro ^.^
Restore your iDevice. Don’t ‘Restore from Backup’. Create as New iPod. Then Jailbreak.

Hi i also get error 2000 on Iphone 4S V 45.1.1 Modemfirmware 2.0.12. Also tryed Absinthe. but i Crasches all the time. It worked on my Ipad 2 3G.

Same error. Error 2000 in Redsnows and application crashes in Absinthe. Any way to solve this?
Someone say it need to be downgrade to 5.0.1 and perform upgrade and jailbreak. I am thinking this method is not so suitable for me.
experience error 2000 too and manage to solve it. I restored my ipad 2 to factory setting on 5.1.1 and then perform the jailbreak successfully.
put ur device in DFU mode first then jailbreak it works

I did also get error 2000, but put you iphone or ipad into DFU mode (home and lock button 10 sec relese lock button but hold on the home button for about 13 sec, finnish!

but the only problem is that my cydia is white and it won’t let me open it and run? can anyone help me out and tell me how to fix it?
When your jailbreak is complete it is normal that cydia will be white. Just boot it up if you don’t know how to do that go into redsn0w,click extras then click ‘just boot’ when it’s finished booting up cydia will stop being white.
Error 2000 from my experience, simply is just when you forget to turn off your apple device before the jailbreak process. I received the error and it worked just like normal once I went back and turned my ipod off. I didn’t need to restore my device or anything like that.

It says successfully jailbroken but its stuck on the rebooting screen. It’s been showing the Apple and that bar underneath for fifteen minutes now. Is that suppose to happen?
